Three Unique & Beautiful Golf Courses
Fiddler's Elbow Country Club boasts three professionally designed championship golf courses. The architects are renowned, having won prestigious industry awards for creating and redesigning some of the country's most widely praised courses. Their expertise and ingenuity is on full display at Fiddler's Elbow where they've fused unique features of the local landscape with challenging holes that put members' skills to the test.
The Forest Course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 1995. Fantastic panoramic views are a welcoming beginning to the round. Off the tee, the player must keep the ball away from the smartly placed deep fairway bunkers. The greens are generous but are well guarded by more deep bunkering in the greens surrounds. The Forest Course offers a serene experience where you feel you might not be in the Garden State but somewhere in the foothills in the Carolinas.
The Meadow Course, originally designed by Hal Purdy in 1965 was updated by Brian Silva in 1989 with an addition of a few holes. In 2013, Stephen Kay began the implementation of the final master renovation plan. The Meadow Course is a Parkland style course with moderate to significant elevation changes throughout. Off the tee, the Meadow Course will challenge you to use a variety of clubs. Shots into the greens are demanding and ball striking and distance control are a must in order to score. The greens are challenging and demand deft speed control to ensure a maximum of 2 putts.
The River Course, with most holes originally designed by Hal Purdy in 1965 and the new holes designed by Brian Silva in 1989 was renovated in 2008. It is a Parkland style course with rolling terrain. The course is fairly forgiving off of the tee with the true test coming on the approach shots. The greens are challenging due to the contours where one must try to keep the ball below the hole to have the best opportunity to make putts.
